Hotel do Chiado

Good location in the heart of historic Lisbon. Rooms are designed really nicely. Great shower. Wonderful staff. There was a small issue with our room on our first evening… I’m sure the heating mode on the aircon is very rarely needed in Lisbon, but we happened to stay on the coldest week of the year and our aircon was only cooling, not heating. I called reception and a staff member called Tomas came straight up. He was extremely helpful, trying to fix the problem and then moving us to another room where he had already put the heating on. It was nice and warm. We felt very well taken care of.

It is a wonderful hidden gem of a hotel. We have visited many times over the past 15 years , on our own and with teenage and now grown up kids. The staff are welcoming, efficient, friendly... and the rooms are smart, with really comfy beds. The roof top bar is an oasis of calm with stunning views across to the castle midst the Chiado district roof tops and high above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. It's a great base to explore the city, a few minutes walk from the central square by the river and access to trams and trolley buses, as well as all the wonderful streets and steps and alleyways that make Lisbon a delight. Bars, cafe's and restaurants of all types and prices are within minutes - Michelin stars to tiny, funky tapas. It is up a hill, but then much of Lisbon is! The breakfast buffet is lovely - hot and cold choices, simple and delicious. The bar also does light meals and is wonderful.

Located at city center, easy walking distances to many many points of interest. Staff was very accommodating & friendly. Rooms are very spacious. Service is outstanding. Rooftop bar/restaurant is a relaxing space, but with the rain, not to appealing for us that night. However the panoramic views would be spectacular. The buffet breakfast included many choices, hot & cold. I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Our spacious 7th floor room with lovely patio; the great breakfast & dining area, the fun roof top bar with terrific views, the convenient, location to historic sites of the Chiado district restaurants, shopping, & transportation. Most of all the fabulous staff! Everyone was friendly, helpful, professional & efficient. A special shout out to Kayla at the front desk. She went above & beyond to meet our every need!! (Warm, kind & patient, too)! Thank also to Alberto, who assisted us when leaving..Hotel Chiado is a gem!

Thank you to Reception staff Senhor Alberto & Levi who are the most wonderful people and looked so well after us. They gave us Tipps regarding booking a taxi and where to eat. We really appreciated their dedication, they had always time for us. The Hotel is spotless clean & very quiet, even during renovation there was no noise. We booked 9 nights the premium room and it was worth every Euro! The view is breathtaking. Even you are in the buzzing Chiado district, it is very quiet. We loved breakfast in bed. A nice touch was the cake, which changed every day, wow, artisan handmade. Try the “American coffee”. The Cleaning lady Mrs Cindy did a fantastic job; each day we had a nice room spray, we want to say a special thank you Cindy 😍 The premium room is big, walk in shower (no bath) and the bed was twice of a king size bed. Mattress firm and 2 pillows per guest. We slept very well. We will come back again next year, 10 stars from Germany 🇩🇪 and Portugal 🇵🇹
